Online Water Games

water drop

Whether you are taking a journey as a water drop through the virtual water cycle, living in the community of Sweetwater Village, or traveling through an urban or rural drain system – we hope that your adventures are pollution free!

These games run best using Internet Explorer 8 or Firefox 6.0 browsers.

Down the Drain You GO!

Mr. Squeaky CleanEver wonder what happens to all of that water going down the drain from your kitchen sink, bathtub and toilet? And it’s not just the water – what about all of that other “stuff” that some people put down their drains?

Well put on your goggles and snorkeling gear - or hold your nose tight - and join “Squeaky” for this fantastic adventure through your home’s drainage system. Choose either a country (rural) home’s drain system or a city (urban) home’s drain system, and you get to make all the decisions of what goes down the drain in your home. Just like in real life at your own home!

Mr. Squeaky Clean will stick with you on this journey and let you know how you’re doing. If you are making good stewardship decisions, he stays a pretty blue, but if you make the water difficult to clean then he turns gray. Squeaky will take you all of the way from your home through the drains that lead to your septic system or water treatment facility.

Are you as clean as Squeaky? Let’s find out – click on Squeaky to start Down the Drain You GO!

Welcome to Green Street, Michigan

Darter the Dragonfly
Join Darter the Dragonfly as he takes you on a flying tour of Green Street, Michigan to visit the yards of some very friendly neighbors.

These folks will not only welcome you into their yards, but tell you a little about themselves and show you some of the great stewardship practices they have implemented at their homes.

The yards on Green Street are as unique as the home owners who care for them. Just like people, no two yards are alike but we can all do things to make our homes and neighborhoods a little greener and our water a little cleaner.

Everything each of us does to become better environmental stewards helps a lot and makes a big difference in making our state a cleaner and healthier place to live.

So enjoy your tour with Darter and at the end you can download and print a list of all of the good stewardship practices you saw so you can decide which ones you would like to have in your own yard. Add even more ideas of what you can do at home in addition to the practices you saw on Green Street!

Sweetwater Village

The happy residents of Sweetwater Village love their town – the fresh Great Lakes air, the friendly neighbors, the talking squirrels (just kidding) – but most especially they love the sparkling, clean waters of Sweetwater Lake.
Sweetwater Lake's AmBASSador
YOU have just been elected the new mayor of this pleasant village and now must make decisions that will effect the quality of water in Sweetwater Lake. Sweetwater Lake's AmBASSador will escort you during your journey.

Throughout the game your choices as mayor determine whether Sweetwater Village remains a thriving, beautiful town, or if the town is abandoned as Sweetwater Lake degrades into Stinkwater Pond.

You will be able to tell if your decisions are making the AmBASSador angry!

Virtual Water Cycle Model
